The District at Metuchen was conceived after many years of planning, public outreach and the joint efforts of the Borough and developer to create a project that would revitalize and enhance the entire downtown area of Metuchen. On December 20, 2007, we received Preliminary Approval from the Planning Board, said approval requiring changes to the site plan as recommended by the Borough Planner.

The site plan has been through a "Renaissance", incorporating additional comments made by the public as well as the Borough Planner. Amended Preliminary & Final Plans are now underway to incorporate these recommendations, inclusive of a pedestrian walkway connecting Building D to the parking deck in Building A, 8 Work/Live units in Building B, 24 COAH condominium units and 109 market condominium units, as well as 63,718 SF of retail/commercial, including the new home for Boro Ace Hardware and grocery store.
